Comments on the arms:

I wonder if there is any relationship here with the Prince of Wales three-feather badge (see 
http://www.princeofwales.gov.uk/about/rol_feathers.html) either through the Edward the Black Prince or his mother, Philippa of Hainault (Belgium)?

The coat-of-arms is of ancient origin (first seal imprint 1571); its significance is unknown, but a connection to the Prince of Wales seems a little far-fetched to me.
