The flag of the Canadian Lifeboat Institution (CLI) seems to be based on the
UK/Eire Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI). It appears to be flown on
Lifeboats as a House Flag with the Canadian flag as ensign.
David Cox, 5 November 2006
David says that the CLI flag seems to be based on the flag of the RNLI in the UK and Ireland, and the NLRI flag also seems to fall into this category, along with the flag of South Africa's National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI). André Coutanche, 25 November 2006
