SolidaritéS is a small leftist party of Trotskyist origin. It has one seat in the 200-seat lower chamber of the Swiss Parliament (Nationalrat = National Council). Mainly active in Geneva and other parts of French-speaking Switzerland, it has a branch in Basel under the name "Sozialistische Alternative" (Socialist Alternative).
The logo is the party name (in white) on a horizontally divided red-black
field. This is also the basic pattern of the flag: horizontally divided red over
black (about 3:1), with the white inscription "solidaritéS" along the division.
