I must stress that this source is a poor indicator of the
actual proportions of the municipal flags. Some flags are just
annexed to the Coat of Arms in a square proportion. Two of these
flags were presented previously in a 2:1 proportion. Many
of these flags could be such. I think it will be wise to
place a note that indicates that the true proportions of these
flags could be 2:1 also.

"La Bandera - Ideada por el profesor Luis Mario Patiño
Betancur y adoptada según acuerdo 06 de enero 27 de 1983.
La bandera de Villamaría está conformada en figura rectangular
dividida en tres fajas horizontales iguales, con los colores
Azul, Blanco y Verde.
El Azul en su parte superior, como color del firmamento
representa la justicia, la verdad y la lealtad.
El blanco, como emblema de la integridad, la firmeza y la
vigilancia, representa las nieves del Ruiz.
El verde, como símbolo de la Libertad, la Juventud y el
