"Es un rectángulo dividido en tres partes iguales, en formato horizontal, Tiene los siguientes colores:
Primera franja blanca; significa la paz que todos anhelan, pureza y tranquilidad.
Segunda franja en color azul, simboliza el río Magdalena, las aguas azufradas, y en general toda la riqueza hídrica que posee el territorio de Guataquí.
Tercera franja verde: sus campos, la exuberancia de ellos y al mismo tiempo la esperanza del mejor manana."
