I have just received from the Government of Cundinamarca a book that deals with on the shields and flags of this department. This book is called "Shields, Flags and Hymns of Cundinamarca", written by Rosalba Salazar Gallo for the Secretariat of Culture of Cundinamarca. Here is the flag of Ricaurte (Alto Magdalena (Upper Magdalena) Province).

"Presenta dos franjas diagonales de igual tamano en colores rojo y blanco. Lleva impreso el escudo en el centro.
El rojo: significa el amor y la generosidad de sus habitantes, también valor, honor, metales como el cobre, piedras preciosas como el rubí, elementos como el fuego, árboles como el cedro y en la mitología, el dios Marte.
El blanco simboliza: pureza, verdad, franqueza, en relación con los metales, plata, con las piedras preciosa, la perla y con los elementos, el agua."
