"La bandera del municipio se compone de tres franjas, de colores blanco, verde y rojo.
La primera franja de color blanco, simboliza la paz.
La segunda de color verde, representa la esperanza, la naturaleza y la riqueza del campo.
La tercera franja de color rojo, significa el entendimiento e integración de la región.
En el centro el escudo y un sol que representan el cerro del Quininí como guardián del municipio y de provincia del Sumapaz.."
