Description

This is the flag of the region of Lower Lusatia (Niederlausitz) is here. Niederlausitz is the area inhabited by the Sorb group of protestant Wends. The name Mark Lausitz refers to the area of the Markgraviate of Niederlausitz (Markgrafschaft Niederlausitz). The coat-of-arms was adopted in 1817. The colours are taken from the coat of arms, and they are used since the end of 19th century. I have seen this flag in the town of Friedland, in Niederlausitz.
