Burg (bei Magdeburg) is the seat of Jerichower Land county, northeast of Magdeburg (the capital of Saxony-Anhalt). The coat of arms bears obvious similarities to the arms of Magdeburg. The city has slightly more than 25,000 inhabitants. Source: Günther 1996a.
