Overview

Adopted: 2 June 1994. Ratio: 2:3. Tartu is a rural municipality (vald) in Tartumaa County (maakond). Note that this is not Tartu linn (city) but the rural municipality of Tartu.

Six petals of cornflower refer to six former municipalities from which is formed Tartu vald. Blue waves refer to the Ahja river and Saadjärv Lake.
