Description

This is the Colour of the 24th Infantry Regiment Bailén 1872-1873. This flag shows the inescutcheon of Savoy, which appeared in Army Colours when Amadeus I of Savoy assumes the throne in 1870. Source: Manzano 1997 [mzn97].

More precisely, the inescutcheon shows the arms of Amadeo of Savoy-Aosta, son of Vittorio Emanuele II, and king of Spain 1873, blazoned Savoy [i.e. Gules a cross Argent] a bordure gobony Or and Azure.
