The Compagnie Française de Marine et de Commerce, based in Rouen, set up in 1924 in Marseilles a branch called Minerais et Métaux. The branch of Marseilles operated two ore tankers, MS Alumine and MS Quartz. The company was sold off in 1934.

The house flag of the Compagnie Française de Marine et de Commerce, also used by the ships of Minerais et Métaux, is a gironny of four light blue and four red pieces, charged in the middle with an oval bordered blue and bearing the blue-red-blue-red letters CFMC.
