Flag Competition

Today we received a letter from the High Sheriff of Gloucestershire who is launching a competition with a prize of £250 to design a flag for Gloucestershire following the recent trend for flags in the South-West region of England. The winner of the competition will be revealed in March 2008 when the current High Sheriff steps down. The competition is open to everybody, from Gloucestershire, regardless of age.

Contact details for the competition can be found on the University of Gloucestershire web site: http://www.glos.ac.uk/microsites/gloucestershire1000/events/flag.cfm and this article from the BBC, which explains that the competition is to commemorate the millennium year of the establishment of Gloucestershire: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/gloucestershire/6983132.stm.
