Presentation of Perušić

Perušić is located 10-15 km north of Gospić, with 7,500 inhabitants, the main settlement of the same name having some 1,300 of them.

Flag of Perušić

The symbols of Perušić are mentioned (but hardly described) in Article 6 of the current Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Perušić, adopted on 10 July 2009 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 27 July 2009 in the County official gazette Županijski glasnik Ličko-senjske županije, No. 11.

The symbols were designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. company, from Rijeka.

The flag (photo made in 2002) is in proportions 1:2, light blue with the coat of arms, bordered yellow, in the middle.

The coat of arms is "Azure a lion passant or holding a feather argent".
The Statutes claim that this is the historical coat of arms ofPerušić, which is absurd, since it is a new one designed in the mid 1990s.
