Presentation of Žminj

Žminj (Italian, Gimino) is located in the central part of the Istrian peninsula, 30 km north of Pula and some 10 km south of Pazin. It has about 3,500 inhabitants, only some 700 in the small town of the same name.

Flag of Žminj

The symbols of Žminj are described in the Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Žminj (text), adopted on 14 August 2009 by the Municipality Assembly and published in the Municipality official gazette Službene glasnik Općine Žminj.
The symbols were approved on 4 November 1997 by the Ministry of Administration.

The flag is in proportions 1:2, red with the coat of arms offset to the flag's canton.

The coat of arms is "Azure on a base vert a town argent to dexter a tree and in sinister chief St. Michael or holding scales and a flaming sword issuant from a cloud argent".
