Presentation of Davor

Davor is located some 40 km west of Slavonski Brod, opposite to the confluence of river Vrbas into the Sava. It has bout 3,300 inhabitants, ca. 2,500 in the town of the same name.
Known in the Middle Ages as Svinjar, the town was renamed Davor in 1896, by a Decision of the Croatian government of 20 December 1895. The location made it an important place for river crossing (ferry). The annual fishing festival is one of the main events in the town today.

Flag of Davor

The symbols of Davor are described in the Municipality Statutes Statut općine Davor, adopted on 29 June 2009 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 14 September 2009 in the County official gazette Službeni vjesnik Brodsko-posavske županije, No. 12 (text).

The flag is in proportions 1:2, blue with the coat of arms, bordered yellow in the middle.

The coat of arms is "Argent an anchor azure fimbriated or and a carp or swimming in a fess wavy azure in the base".
The golden outline around the anchor is not mentioned in the Municipality Statutes.
