Jelsa is a community in the Split-Dalmatia County, some 40 km
south of Split, on the island of
Hvar. Population 3,800, in the town itself 1,800.
The coat of arms of Jelsa is Argent a tower azure topped with a
pennant or infront of the city walls and a church tower all
azure. The coat of arms pictures the charateristic features of
the old city of Jelsa.
The flag is yellow with the coat of arms in the middle.
The ceremonial form of the coat of arms include the name of the
community in blue letters above and wreath of green vine and
olive branches below. It is highly probable that the ceremonial
flag is similar. See how the pennant in the coat of arms indicate
