Sveti Ilija is some 20-ish km south of Varadin with some
3,600 inhabitants (1993), in a hilly vine producing region, and
this is reflected in the symbols. The county web site <www.varazdinska-zupanija.hr>
showes the CoA: quartered, first and fourth gules a bunch of
grapes vert slipped sable, second and third vert a fess wavy
argent, overall a thunderbolt in pale and two arms grasping hands
proper issunat from flanks clead argent. The flag is white with
the coat of arms in the middle.
