The hawk (jastrijeb) that gave name to the city has
found its place on the Coat of Arms too. The city's name is often
shortened to Jaska, the practice used already in middle
age.

Previously I reported a flag of light blue
with the Coat of Arms. I have not noted the
date of this observation, but it must have been in 1996 or so.
However, it seems that nowdays the flag used is drak blue with
the Coat of Arms of light blue field bordered yellow. I do not
suppose that there is any legislative change connected with it
and it may simply be matter of manufacturer.
