The first flag of this state was hoisted in 1865 and consisted of a (dark green triangular banner, the color of the reigning family. In 1895 this banner was replaced by a (dark) green flag with a Saint Andrew's cross in black. In the middle are two yellow sabres (national emblems of the Afghani) around scales (Justice), convergin in a disk which has a radiant star (heavenly light).translated by Jarig Bakker, 21 Mar 2000
Jaora was a fragmented state to the north of Ratlam with an area of 2000 sq km, with 100 000 inhabitants, governed by a sovereign of the Afghan race; the first ruler was since 1818 Jafar Khan.
