About the IDU

The International Democrat Union includes as members the Republican Party in the USA, the Conservative Party in the UK, the Liberal Democratic Party in Japan and the Christian Democratic Union in Germany. The European parties are also joined in the EDU, i.e. European Democrat Union, and in the European Parliament (the parliament of the European Union) they are gathered in the party European People's Party - European Democrats (abbreviated EPP-ED).

The International Democrat Union is an international group of moderate right-wing conservative Christian-democrats party members. The flag is prominently displayed in their website. It is white with a red logo in it, slightly off to the fly. The logo consists of the initials "IDU" in block sans-serif capitals, superimposed at top and bottom with two narrow white stripes. These are colinear with the tropics of a stylized globe, which shows only those, the Equator and five hemi-meridians, partly visible behind the "I".
