Last night Spanish TV showed a demonstration of Iraqi communists. The demonstrators
used plain red flags and banners (some banners with
white Arabic inscriptions), but mainly two white flags with the same emblem in
different colors, red and purple. The emblem was the one of the 1958 flag. I
don't know the meaning of these flags. Perhaps the red flags are for Arabs,
purple emblem for Assyrians, and red emblem for Kurds?
