"GONFALONE. Drappo di colore rosso riccamente ornato
di ricami d'oro e caricato dello stemma civico con la iscrizione
centrata in oro: «Cittą di Aulla» (Decreto Presidente della
Repubblica 27 dicembre 1991).
Una rosa, la cui immagine č tratta dall'altare seicentesco della
chiesa abbaziale č l'emblema di Aulla. Secondo storici locali,
sarebbe da riferirsi alla famiglia Centurione di Genova, gią
commendataria dell'abbazia e feudataria di Aulla dal secolo XVI
al XVIII. Con il decreto del Presidente della Repubblica sopra
citato Aulla č stata dichiarata «cittą»."
