Description of the flag

White emblem on blue field. The emblem is stylized Kanji character of Iwa of Iwate which symbolizes advanced progress. Adopted 1965-03-06.
Nozomi Kariyasu, 6 May 1998

Blueish (turquoise?) flag with white 'hexagonal' symbol reminding of two crowns (or a snow drop). approximately 2:3
Proportions of the flags are given from W. Smith 1980. Interestingly some of the flags there are marked as state flags while this one has no markings. I am not quite sure how to interpret the meaning of missing markings.
