Nozomi Kariyasu, 10 December 2005
The emblem is a stylised hiragana ri り, the first syllable in
Ryozen, which means "sacred mountain". The first stroke of the ri forms an
upward arrow like a mountain, and the second stroke forms a circle almost
enclosing it. The emblem symbolises the harmony and unity of the citizens
and steady development/growth of the town's strength.
