The emblem is described as a white hiragana sa さ, forming a circle, as the syllables Shi-ra-sa-wa could be written 白さ輪 (white - sa - wheel/ring/circle). The first stroke of the sa (which forms a line across the top of the circle) is a folding fan, having in mind the harmony of the village and unlimited growth of industry. The prosperity of the village is also symbolised.
