Kawaguchi city in Saitama adopted its emblem on 18 September 1933 by Notice No. 70 and its flag on 16 July 1965 by Notice No. 49; a stylized kanji Kawaguchi 川口.

Adopted by Notice No. 49. The emblem was adopted on 18 September 1933, Notice No 70. Although I didn't find this written anywhere, the emblem has a stylised kanji kawa 川 (river), forming a circle around a stylised kanji guchi 口 (mouth, entrance).
