City flag

Nago city adopted its emblem: 8 August 1972; no flag legislation.

Flag proportion: 2:3; colour of field: white

Colour of emblem: dark green; diameter of emblem: 3/5 flag height; a stylized katakana Na ナ
Nozomi Kariyasu, 3 February 2006

The stylised initial katakana na ナ has a tilted line at the bottom with another line crossing it and bending up to form an incomplete circle, narrowing as it goes. It is in the shape of a dove taking off, representing peace/harmony and activity. The colour expresses this northern part of the city's love of nature and respect for humans.
