Dov Gutterman, 17 March 1999The green petal-like design symbolizes farmlands, residential grounds, and the rose if Sharon. Within the symbol is the Chinese characters for tae. It is one of the character that is used in writing the name of the city. It means greatness and shows the image of Taejon which continuously overcoming its challenge for further development. It also symbolizes the spirits and dreams of Taejon citizens which are to make Taejon the center of transportation, administration, science, culture, and distribution in the nation.
