Flagdescription: two equally wide horizontal stripes of white and black.
This flag was not official, but was frequently used. The colors are derived from (some of) the CoA.

Sint Jansteen was a municipality with 4.000 inhabitants in Eastern Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, south of Hulst. Settlements: Sint Jansteen (seat), Absdale, Drie Hoefijzers, Heikant (part), Hoekje and Kapellebrug (part).
In 1170 Zeger, free lord of Gent, built a castle ("steen") with a chapel devoted to St. John the baptist, from which originated the name St. Jan ten Steene -> St. Jansteen. For centuries it belonged to the lords of Gent; in recent times (c.18th c.) it became the domain of the van Hogendorp family. It is close to the Belgian border.
