Number of inhabitants (1 Jan 2003): 6.844; area: 24,42 km². Settlements:
Maasland (seat).
On 1 Jan 2005 Maasland merged with Schipluiden, to form the new municipality
of Midden-Delfland.
Flagdescription: Square with three equally wide vertical stripes of
green and white, and on the white stripe a blue stylized letter "M", of
which the base rests against the stripe on the right side, and the legs
till respectively top- and bottom of that stripe..
This flag was adopted by municipal resolution on 23 Feb 1962. The image
is identical to the municipal CoA. Before that Maasland had a flag of three
equally wide horizontal stripes of green and white, with in the center
the municipal arms.
