Population (1 Jan 2003): 75.371; area: 30,23 km²; settlements: Spijkenisse (seat), Hekelingen.
In 1966 Hekelingen and Spijkenisse merged to form the new municipality of Spijkenisse.
Flagdescription: three equally wide horizontal stripes blue - white - yellow.
This flag was adopted 11 Jun 1959 by municipal resolution. The colors are derived from the municipal arms.
