The proposed flag is white-red-yellow in the usual Norwegian proportions. The
colours are supposed to symbolize snow and ice, combined with the colours of the
Norwegian coat of arms (red and yellow).

from 1991 (and is meant to be a flag for Northern-Norway, including Svalbard).
