The non existence of the said regions (refused in referendum in 1999) makes all this defunct in practice.

In spite of haveing been rejected in the 1999 referendum, these administrative regions are still prescribed in the Consititution.

Regional flag pattern

The crown used in the 1935 colonial arms was revived by means of the regional arms design prescribed in the current law.
