Unknown flag aboard Sagres

I’ve seen only one so far, both on TV images and in a photo. It seemed to be square and was largeish, perhaps 1×1 m or even bigger. The field is compsed of a large number of diagonal red and white stripes and it had a white cross throughout, with a seal in the center. The seal included the ship insignia. I don’t know if there are more flags of the same overall design, but given the standartization that portuguese flags suffer from, I find it very likely.
