About Paraguayan political parties

The website of PYglobal, with the emblems of all current Paraguayan political parties, shows different colors for each party (visible when overflying the mouse pointer on the party name); these seem to agree with the known official colors:

colorparty
(red) Asociación Nacional Republicana / Partido Colorado
(acqua) Movimiento Fuerza Ciudadana
(dark yellowish green) Movimiento Fuerza Democrática Independiente
(light blue) Movimiento Patria Querida
(light grey) Partido Demócrata Cristiano
(yellow) Partido Encuentro Nacional
(dark yellow) Partido Frente Amplio Paraguayo
(orange) Partido Humanista Paraguayo
(dark grey) Partido Indpendiente en Acción
(dark blue) Partido Liberal Radical Auténtico
(purple) Partido País Solidario
(violet) Partido Patria Libre
(dark green) Partido Revolucionario Febrerista
(grey) Partido Unión Nacional de Ciudadanos Éticos

Of these, the most important (juding from recent results) are the traditional Colorados and Liberales, both with stars as their main symbol. Some of the smaller parties share names and logos with parties in neighbour countries (Argentina and Uruguay)

The emblem is roughly a horizontal tricolor of red-white-blue (suitably patriotic), showing at the top the bottom part of a red flag flying and at the bottom the top part of a blue flag flying, against a white background. (This square may be interpreted as a cropped scene of flag-waving Haitian or Liechtensteinian patriots, or perhaps a mixed group of supporters of the two major parties!…)

Spanish original, taken from the offcial Senate website which somebody here hopefully can translate into english: «Art. 3.
Knut A. Berg, 20 Dec 2004

(The same text is at the party’s official website.) This means that the party acronym is "P.P.Q.", that its color is sky blue (classically understood as very light blue), and that its logo is a sky blue flag (!?) with a square multicolored emblem and the lettering "PATRIA QUERIDA" (="Dear Fatherland").

Unión Nacional de Ciudadanos Éticos
Unace (Ethical Citizens’ National Union)

Spanish original, taken from the offcial Senate website which somebody here hopefully can translate into english:

Art. 2º.

(See here the horseshoe emblem.)

Knut A. Berg, 20 Dec 2004

I swear I cannot understand the text above: Firstly the flag description is a mess — it seems to be gray with a white off-centered cross thoughout, with green letter on the horizontal arm and seven yellow stars on vertical arm with the paty emblem on the upper hoist.

Secondly, after a long description of a flag, which is one of the adopted symbols, the text adds that the party adopted as its emblem a flag (!?), this with 14 red and white horizontal equal stripes and seven white stars on the top stripe and the «horseshoe of the party flag». So, we have a flag which is a symbol, and then a flag which is an emblem.
