The fairily small town of Marinskiĭ Posad, a
municipality seat (raĭonyĭ centr) some 50
km east of Cheboksary.
This flag is a 2:3 banner of the arms and both (flag
and arms) were recently approved by the State Herald
of the President of the Russian Federation, according
to an article in Sovetskaâ Ĉuvaŝiâ
(1999.07.08). The arms are: on a “french” shield,
azure, an imperial crown proper over a mountain (or
whatever that is supposed to be…) argent; (very
small) canton filled with chuvashian flag. The
interesting note is that this canton, absent from the
flag, by the way, is hatched with the
petra sancta markings
for purpure.
