"Svenska Aeroplan AB" (Swedish for "Swedish Aeroplane
Limited"; AB=aktiebolag) (SAAB) was founded in 1937 in Trollhättan, with the
merger of SAAB and Linköping based ASJA. The headquarters moved to
Linköping. The style "Saab" replaced "SAAB" around 1950.

Note that the presented flag is of Saab Automobile AB, not of the current
Saab Aerospace. See Wikipedia on Saab Automobile.
The post-2000 company logo consists of the Scanian arms recolored to show red griffin head with golden crown, all but the crown fimbriated in silver, above the commissioned lettering "SAAB", all within two concentric silver rings.
The flag images were made using this online image, recolored and resized.
