About the regimental colours of I16

Hallands regemente (I16) was founded in 1624 as Kungliga Westgötha-Dahls regemente (17th Century spelling of "Royal Regiment of Västergötland-Dalsland") (and used flag no 1) and was reorganized as Kungliga Hallands regemente (Royal Regiment of Halland) in 1901 (and used flag no 2).

On flag no 2 "Lützen 1632 Leipzig 1642 Lund 1676 Gadebusch 1712" is written, since the regiment fought in these victorious battles.

Editor's note: Hallands regemente was closed down on 1 July 2000, but the regimental buildings in Halmstad will be used by other military units.
