Municipal flag of Škofljica

The flag and arms of Škofljica are prescribed by Decision Odlok o grbu, zastavi, žigih in občinskem prazniku Občine Škofljica, adopted on 11 July 2001, and published in the official Slovene gazette Uradni list Republike Slovenije, 67/2001.

The flag is rectangular, in ratio 2:5, horizontally divided green-yellow-green with a yellow square at hoist containing the attribute from the coat of arms, a curlew (Numenius arquata).
The source for the images is the municipal website.

The colour specifications, not included in the Decision, are listed by Stanič [stj05] as follows:

  • Gold: SCC Y100-M10 / CMYK 0-20-100-0
  • Red: SCC Y100-M90 / CMYK 0-20-100-0
  • Green: SCC Y100-C100 / CMYK 100-0-100-0
  • Black: SCC Y100-C100-M100-K100 CMYK 100-100-100-100

The coat of arms of Škofljica is:
Or on a base vert a curlew proper.

The curlew is typical of the marshy regions that surrounds Ljubljana, and common in marshy areas throughout Europe.
