Kirghizia was ASSR only in 1926-1936. In
that times kirghiz flags did not exist.
Victor Lomantsov, 07 May 2000

Red with in the upper hoist yellow name in serif in
both Kirgiz script (?) (Kirgiz SSR I presume) and cyrillic
(Kirgizskaja SSR).
Mark Sensen, 25 May 1996
Actually, it is yes kyrgyz language, but the script is
latin — simply with two unusual characters that coincidently
show in the very word "kyrgyz"…
António Martins, 15 Dec 1999
In the famous book of K.Ivanov Flagi gosudarstv mira
[iva71] there’s a mistaken drawing
of this flag: Inscription on state flag of 1937 is not correct.
Indeed, the first letter in the word "Kyrghyz" (in kyrghyz language,
latin characters) is the latin letter "Q".
Victor Lomantsov, 07 May 2000

Red with in the upper hoist yellow name in serif
in cyrillic [Kirgiz] (Kyrgyz SSR) and
cyrillic [Russian] (Kirgizskaja SSR).
Mark Sensen, 02 Jun 1996
This flag was replaced by a new one in 1952.
