The Royal Yacht's Flag (B.E.2440) [1897 AD]
This is a red flag with a white elephant - in full caparison - standing on a dias [sic, probably "dais"] facing the flagpole.
In accordance with a Royal Command issued by King Rama I [1782-1809 AD], the flag was originally designed in the form of a red flag with a white "chakkra" in the middle denoting the Royal Yacht. Later on, in B.E.2440 [1897 AD], the design was changed – by the Royal command of King Rama V – to emerge as the version seen here. This version has been in use until B.E.2460 [1917 AD].

Note that it is almost identical to the War Ensign 1891-1910, rather than to the royal yachts ensign image at the top.

Those two descriptions – red flag with white chakra and red flag with white elephant – look strikingly similar to the national flag up to 1855 and War Ensign 1891-1910.
