The flag is horizontally divided in light blue over white, with a
coat-of-arms-like emblem centered thereon above the lettering "Partido
Povo Timor" — the party’s name without the smaller words (thus reading
"Party People Timor") in yellow capitals edged black. The emblem, read
as a coat of arms, is: party per fess argent and argent (?!), a roundel
or (windmill stone? punctured coin?) and a pair of crossed daggers proper,
ineschutheon “in heart” with Portugal modern.
Crest: kaibauk crown, red scroll like wreath and mantling. For
supporters, two purple roosters, motto "Timor-Dili" on a golden scroll.

P.P.T. got 7322 votes in the 2001.08.30 elections
(2,01%), recieving 2 of 88 seats in the parlament, where it is one of the small
parties. The symbol and flag of this party are quite similar to a previously
existing entity M.N.L.I.T.D. (Movimento Nacional para
a Libertação e Independência de Timor-Díli), reported in Vlaggen
33 (1985): 482-483 [vlg].

"Timor-Dili" seems to be a 1975 aborted attempt to create an alternative
to "Portuguese Timor", following the example of Guinea-Bissau
(vs. Guinea-Konakry — here would be vs.
Timor-Kupang). As we know, the form "East Timor" catched on instead.
