Heraldry :
"On the 14th of August 1996 village council session
(resolution є 63) has confirmed a modern emblem: the shield per
bend sinister with gules and argent. In the gules field a vert
sunflower with vert leaves, the sable head with or petals; in the
argent field - a brown statant bull on the ground turned to the
sinister side. The author is O.Kyrychok.
Velyka Novosilka is a centre one from the largest agricultural
regions of Donets'ka oblast'. Main sorts of activity is plant
growing (in main, cultivation grain crops), what directs
blossoming sunflower in a upper right member, and the large
horned animal industries (that is symbolized by a bull at the
bottom of the coat of arms)."

Heraldry :
"It was founded in 1780 by Greek settlers from the Crimean
settlements Selgir Yeni-Sala and Velykyi Yeni-Sala. Till 1946 it
had the name of Velykyi Yanissol."
