Description of the flag

A vertical white flag bearing a shield-shaped device. Divided per fess, in dexter a beaver on orange, in sinister an orange weathercock on blue, below a red building. The town and state name and date are on a ribbon below, and date of settlement above. Longmeadow is in Hampden County.
