Description of the flag

A pale blue flag with the town seal in the center.  The seal consists of a blue-line drawing of a fisherman on a boat, sea waves behind on an angle, and the horizon tilted to the lower fly, a sunrise in yellow behind. The name, and significant dates are written in a ring around the seal, and the outer edge is a gold rope. Above is ribbon with the word SWAMPSCOTT. Swampscott is in Essex County.
