At www.rosecitymi.net/history/chief_ogemaw.html there is a story about Chief Ogemaw. The flag-related info come at the end as follows:
"Millie Miller’s impression of Chief Ogemaw was accepted as the official insignia of Ogemaw County by the Board of Supervisors in 1964. An oil painting of Chief Ogemaw decorates the wall of the Court House. He appears on the official maps of the county, as well as on the atlas and the plat book. Chief Ogemaw also appears on the official seal of the Circuit Court of Ogemaw County. The hand-carved Ceremonial Shovel for the ground breaking of the Court House also bears the likeness of the Chief. You will also find Chief Ogemaw in a watermark in both and city and county stationery. Millie also designed and created the official County Flag which was adopted in June, 1974. Chief Ogemaw appears on a white arrowhead against a spruce green background."
