Description of the flag

Horizontally divided, upper half gold in the fly third, bearing a shield; white with a horizontal sunburst in fly two-thirds. Lower half dark red.

Abington Township is one of Montgomery County’s oldest communities dating back to before 1700; however, the official date for the incorporation of the township is 1704. It has population of about 56500 on land area of 15.2 square miles.
