Description

According to Lucien Philippe 1999, the Royal standard of Sigave represents a palm flanked by two spears. The palm is the symbol of a small braided basket, which contained the remains of teeth and jaws of the founding ancestor of a lineage (source: Ethno-archéologie des îles Futuna et Alefi, by D. Frimigacci).
